This hands-on, 2-day class offers a comprehensive examination of AutoCAD® Plant 3D functionality and its use in creating 3D piping, equipment and steel models, 2D Orthographic drawings, creating project specifications and editing catalogs. Students will learn the essentials of using AutoCAD® Plant 3D effectively through instruction and hands-on exercises. All topics are considered fundamental and are covered in depth. Several advance features are also covered.
Create parametric and block base equipment
Work with Pipes, fittings, and accessories
Create steel structure supports and platforms
Modify the piping design layout
Work with Spec Editor to create content based on industry specification
Create a Spec for routing pipes
Create 2D Orthographic drawings from the 3D model
Generate Isometric drawings for creating off-site fabrication assemblies
Validate the model in Plant 3D
Students should be able to understand 3D modeling concepts in AutoCAD, have clear understanding of piping design, and a working knowledge of AutoCAD. It is recommended that the student have a working knowledge of Microsoft® Windows® XP or Microsoft® Windows® 7.
