The AutoCAD MEP 2016: Mechanical Essentials course is designed for HVAC engineers and designers who want to take advantage of AutoCAD MEP`s interactive, dynamic design functionality. AutoCAD MEP, which is built on the long-running AutoCAD Architecture platform, adds the MEP engineering tools to help design a comprehensive AutoCAD-based Building Information Model. The course begins by explaining the different types of equipment used in HVAC systems, and how to place them. Next, layout of the duct system, including routing preferences, is discussed. Learning how duct sizing tools work will also be reviewed, as well as how to export to external duct sizing analysis applications. Common to all disciplines, the user will also learn how to use tools that generate sections and schedules. Users taking this course must complete the AutoCAD MEP Project Fundamentals course or demonstrate relevant experience prior to taking this course.

Introduction to AutoCAD MEP workflow
Add Annotations, Tags and Labels
Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD-based products (such as Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture). AutoCAD MEP Project Fundamentals or relevant experience is required. An understanding of the concepts of HVAC design is also highly recommended.
